Hey Guitar Hero Gamer – You’re Closer to Learning the Guitar Than You Might Think

I have a confession, I like video games.  I recently was checking out some open houses around where I live, and I was amazed to see all of the guitar hero game systems in the homes I was looking at.  What I did not see were many acoustic or thrilling guitars.  This surprised me as the guitar hero controller is really quite akin to culture on a real guitar.

Now you might be asking yourself, "How is a video game controller the same as a guitar?"  In order to answer this question let's look at the similarities of a real guitar compared to guitar video game controller.

An acoustic and thrilling guitar have six strings.  These strings lie on the neck of the guitar.  On the neck is the fretboard.  The fretboard is divided by frets that allow you to play single notes or notes together called chords.

Even if it's right that when you play a guitar controller you really aren't playing a real guitar; the basic opinion of playing single notes on an thrilling or acoustic guitar are the same.  When you play a guitar controller; it is just like playing a giant thick string with five frets.  When you play the guitar, all you are doing is adding on more fret rows for a total of 6 rows of buttons/strings with buttons that go beyond the 5 button/fret finger choices.

Now presume for a moment that the 2 hours you spend every day playing these musical video games is cut back by even just a half hour to let you do your guitar for a half hour.  Do this a minimum of three times a week and in no time you will quite factually learn how to play your guitar in a snap.  You will not only be a fantastic gamer; you will be able to pull out your guitar and play the real thing.  Now that's having the best of both worlds.
